On 19th December (Friday) 2014, La Trobe University(Melbourne, Australia) and Kyushu University came to an agreement to establish the Australian Branch of Institute of Mathematics for Industry, Kyushu University (IMI) in La Trobe University, and the signing ceremony was held at La Trobe University.
Professor Keith Nurgent, Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Research) and Professor Andrew Brennan, Pro Vice Chancellor (Graduate Research) signed the agreement with Professor Kenji Kajiwara and Associate Professor Yoshihiro Mizoguch from IMI in attendance. This agreement comes into effect by the signatures of Professor Yasuhide Fukumoto, Director of IMI and Professor Chiharu Kubo, President of Kyushu University. IMI took a big step forward to expand its activity to Asia-Pacific region by concluding this agreement. IMI will accelerate the preparation to launch the Australian Branch in March 2015.
