■Title : Supporting facility operation and maintenance of power plants through numerical simulation

■Abstract:
SHIKOKU RESEARCH INSTITUTE INC. is a subsidiary of Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc. and a leading private research institute in the Shikoku region. I mainly provide support for facility operation and maintenance of thermal and nuclear power plants through numerical simulation. As a specialist in power plants, I work daily to ensure a stable supply of electricity for problems specific to power plants, such as coal conveyor blockages. In this lecture, I would like to introduce examples of fluid and powder analysis and talk about mathematics required in industry.
I hope that those who have studied mathematics will be able to play an active role by utilizing mathematics in their companies.
