Title : Considering Industrial Challenges through Quantum Algorithms
- The Mathematical Role of Annealing and Gate-Based Approaches
Abstract:
Quantum computers utilize principles of quantum mechanics - such as superposition and entanglement - to process information in fundamentally different ways. Their applications extend not only to theoretical research but also to solving industrial challenges like optimization and simulation. This presentation will introduce two major frameworks—annealing-based and gate-based approaches—highlighting their differing mathematical concepts and problem-solving perspectives. Specifically, annealing-based methods formulate problems as energy minimization tasks, while gate-based approaches design algorithms by manipulating quantum states. By comparing these mathematical approaches, we will explore how quantum algorithms can be useful for understanding the structure of business problems and designing methods to solve them.
Our company develops quantum algorithms not only through theoretical research but also by targeting actual problems faced by businesses. Based on this experience, this presentation explores the potential of quantum computing to bridge mathematics and practical applications.
