Title: Mathematical Thinking in AI Development: Insights from the Field
Abstract:
Developing AI to solve clients' business problems requires more than just programming; it demands strong mathematical thinking. At AI Powerhouse, when developing AI tailored to our clients' business problems, we begin by designing the optimal algorithm and architecture from the ground up. At this stage, rather than immediately starting to code, we approach the problem from a mathematical perspective to explore the most effective solutions. In this talk, we introduce three case studies showcasing solutions we designed from the ground up and highlighting the mathematical thinking applied in each case:
1. Layout Suggestions for Flyer Design: Transforming layouts into feature vectors and introducing a distance metric.
2. Text Extraction AI for Document Review: Developing a novel training method based on the analogy between characters and matrices.
3. AI-powered Material Estimation from Construction Drawing: Building a hybrid system that combines AI with rule-based logic.
