Title: An Overview of Gabor, Wavelet, and Shearlet Frames: Unification and Applications

Abstract:
In this talk, we present an overview of several important classes of structured frames, including Gabor systems, wavelet systems, and shearlet systems, which play a central role in modern harmonic analysis and signal processing. We begin with a brief introduction to frame theory and motivate the need for structured systems in applications. We then discuss the construction and key properties of these systems, highlighting their similarities and differences. In particular, we explore the relationships between them, emphasizing how certain systems can be viewed as special cases or generalizations of others within a unified framework of structured frames. Finally, we illustrate their relevance through applications in areas such as time–frequency analysis, image representation, and data processing. This talk aims to provide a coherent perspective on these systems, bridging theory and applications while clarifying their hierarchical connections.
