Abstract:
Big Data Analysis becomes more and more important to businesses. In this talk, we introduce Toshiba's Big Data Analysis on the TV logs. Toshiba now offers a cloud service called "TimeOn" on REGZA TV system. TimeOn service enables users to access to TV programs and CMs and even to internet movies through automatic content recommendation or voice retrieval. Such TimeOn functions motivate users to watch more contents, and possibly lead to yielding more TV logs as a result. The TV logs obtained by TimeOn contains information about when and how (that means "live" or "recorded") and which program a user watches in seconds, and exploiting the TV logs may lead to new business such as target advertisement or program production support. We present technical essence of TimeOn and TV log Analysis, and discuss possibilities of new business and problems.
