Title : Actuarial Science in Practice

Abstract:
This session discusses actuarial methodologies used in finance from a practical perspective. At first, the pension plans in Japan as well as the reasons of their sustainability are actuarially explained. Secondly, using some insurance products, the methodologies to calculate the premiums to cover the underlying risks are illustrated. The last part of my presentation addresses the role of actuaries in risk management and mathematical approaches to be fulfilled. The students who would like to be an actuary are welcomed.
